ABOUT QSA
PURPOSE
"The purpose of the Queer Student Association is to represent and maintain a safe space for the student body’s diverse identities and additionally, to educate and inform members of LGBT topics, such as current issues or exploring the perception of LGBT identities throughout history. QSA strives to achieve a culture of acceptance, diversity, and compassion on and off campus, and encourage unity and a sense of pride in students."

From the QSA Constitution
WHO ARE WE?
QSA as a concept has existed for a long time in Oxford's club history. Before we were called QSA, we were the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA). As time progressed however, the previous leaders of GSA slowly forgot the purpose of such a club's existence on campus and the club itself deteriorated until Kale Isaiah and Dominique Ipapo revived the club in 2018. The pair, as president and vice president respectively, recreated the club under the name of the Queer Student Association to place a focus on students of queer identities and providing a safe environment for them. Although all students are welcome to be apart of QSA, our main focus is encouraging and supporting queer students to be confident and proud to be themselves, without fear, without regret.
MEET THE BOARD
Another year passes and QSA continues to improve and evolve as both one of Oxford Academy's connection to the world beyond, and one of the many communities providing support to the OA student body. This year is going to be a little different with the circumstances we have dealt with in the last couple months, but rest assured our board is ready to go up and running this year. Each member of the board is qualified to be here and will work their hardest to make this a great year. Say hello to the wonderful QSA board of 2021-2022!
